Flatbed and Dump Bed Repair

Floors, headboards, sidewalls, hoists and hinges on flatbeds and dump bodies repaired for heavy daily work.

Dump beds and flatbeds live in the harshest corner of trucking. Gravel and rock gouge floors, hinges wear, sidewalls bulge and crossmembers fatigue. When a bed fails, a truck stops earning, so quick, sound repairs are worth a great deal to a working operation.

We repair worn and cracked floors with wear plate, rebuild hinge points and brackets, weld split sidewalls and reinforce crossmembers. Where a bed sees constant abrasion, we can add hard wear liners that extend its life well beyond the original steel.

Floors and sides

Cracked or thinned floors are patched with new plate welded to sound steel. Sidewalls that have split along the seams are rewelded and braced.

Hinge and hoist points

Pivot points carry the weight of a raised load. We rebuild worn pin bosses and weld new brackets where metal has cracked or elongated.

Abrasion protection

Wear plate and hardfacing protect the high-wear areas of a bed. They cost more up front but extend service life where gravel or stone is hauled.

Inspecting hoist points

Dump bodies see cycles of heavy lifting. A regular look at hinge pins, hoist mounts and welds near them catches cracks while they are small and inexpensive to fix.

Questions

Flatbed and Dump Beds FAQ

Can you repair a dump bed floor?

Yes. Worn or cracked sections are cut out and replaced with new plate, with wear steel in high-abrasion zones if you choose.

Do you rebuild hinge pins and bushings?

We rebuild worn bosses and weld new brackets. Pins and bushings are replaced as part of the repair.

Can you weld a hoist cylinder mount?

We weld and reinforce mounts. Hydraulic components themselves are a job for a hydraulic technician.

How do I make a bed last longer?

Add wear plate where material strikes and slides, keep the bed clean of rust-causing residue and repair small cracks early.

How often should I inspect a dump body?

A quick visual check every week and a closer look every few months, particularly at hinge and hoist areas.
