Truck Bed and Bumper Welding

Rusted bed floors, cracked bumpers, bent hitches and worn mounts on pickups and work trucks repaired and reinforced.

Truck beds take abuse that car bodies never see: dropped loads, chains, rust from trapped moisture and years of grit. Rusted floors, cracked crossmembers and loose bumper mounts are common. Welding can often give a work truck years of extra service.

We cut out rusted sections, weld in new steel and reinforce crossmembers and mounts. For bumpers and hitches, we repair cracks, add gussets and re-seat mounting brackets. Everything is coated afterward, because bare new steel will rust again without protection.

Cut out and replace

Rust is cut out well back into solid metal. New panels are shaped and welded in so the repair is flat and strong rather than a thin patch over weak steel.

Mounts and reinforcement

Bumper and hitch mounts see heavy loads. We add plates and gussets where steel is thin so the mount does not tear out again.

Coating matters

After welding, we prime and apply a bed liner or durable coating, which seals the repair and protects the bare edges.

Preventing bed rust

Rust starts where water sits. Keeping drain holes open, rinsing the bed after salt exposure and fixing paint chips early slows it down. A good bed coating after repair seals the new steel.

Questions

Truck Bed and Bumpers FAQ

Can you repair a rusted truck bed floor?

Often. We cut out rusted areas and weld in new steel, then seal and coat the repair. Extensive rust may call for a replacement bed.

Will welding damage my bed liner or paint?

Heat damages liners and paint near the work. We remove or protect what we can and recommend refinishing the repaired area.

Can you repair bumper mounts?

Yes. We repair cracks, add plates and re-seat brackets so the bumper is solid again.

Is it worth repairing an older truck?

It depends on the frame and the truck overall. We give you a candid view of whether the repair makes sense.

How do I keep my bed from rusting again?

Keep drain holes clear, wash off salt and mud and touch up chips quickly. Sealing repaired areas with a durable coating helps most.
