Hard overlay and wear plate that protect cutting edges, bucket lips, chutes and tools from abrasion, so they last far longer.
Abrasion quietly eats equipment. Soil, rock, gravel and sand grind away steel edges, and each pass thins the metal a little more. Hardfacing lays a wear-resistant weld overlay on the surface, so the part resists grinding for much longer than plain steel would.
We apply hardfacing to buckets, blades, teeth, crusher parts, augers, chutes and other wear surfaces. We also fit bolt-on or welded wear plate where a surface needs thick protection. Matching the overlay to the wear type, whether abrasion or impact, is the key to getting good life.
Abrasion and impact need different alloys. We choose a hardfacing product to suit how the part wears, to avoid cracking or premature loss.
Hardfacing new parts is cheaper and more effective than rebuilding a worn one. Many operators schedule it for new edges.
Where heavy impact or sliding is constant, wear plate welded or bolted on is easier to replace than rebuilding the base part.
The value of hardfacing shows in hours between edge replacements. Keep a simple log of how long edges last before and after, and you will see the benefit in your own numbers.

It is a weld overlay of wear-resistant alloy applied to a surface so it resists abrasion or impact better than the base steel.
Some overlays form fine cracks by design, which relieve stress. We choose alloys and procedures to avoid harmful cracking.
Cutting edges, bucket lips, auger flights, blades, chutes and anything that digs, scrapes or slides across abrasive material.
Yes. Worn overlays can often be built back up, as long as the base metal is still sound.
Track how long parts last before and after. Many operators see the difference in the first service interval.
