Handrail and Railing Welding

Sturdy steel handrails and guardrails for steps, porches, decks and ramps, welded solid and finished for the weather.

A railing is a safety device before it is a design feature. People lean on it, grab it when they slip and trust it to hold. A loose post, a cracked weld or a rail that moves under load is a real hazard, and repairing it is rarely something to postpone.

We build new railings from steel tube, pipe and bar and repair existing ones. Posts are anchored properly, joints are welded solid, and spacing between balusters is planned with safety in mind. The finish is ground, primed and painted for the weather.

Strong connections

The weak point of most railings is the post connection. We anchor posts into concrete or to framing with plates and fasteners appropriate to the surface.

Safe spacing and height

Baluster spacing and rail height matter, especially for children. We plan to common safety practice and tell you about any local requirements to confirm.

Designed to match

Simple modern lines, traditional pickets or custom scrolls are all possible, built to complement the steps, porch or building.

Testing a railing

You can check a railing yourself by pushing firmly on each post and along the rail. Any movement, rust at the base or cracked weld is a reason to call. Do not wait for a failure.

Questions

Handrails and Railings FAQ

Can you repair a loose railing?

Yes. We re-weld cracked joints and re-anchor posts, and replace rusted sections so the railing stands firm.

Do railings need a permit?

Often rules apply to new railings, especially in commercial or rental settings. Check with your local building office, and we can build to the details they require.

What spacing do you use between balusters?

We plan to common safety practice, with gaps small enough to keep children safe, and we can adjust to local requirements you provide.

Can you match an existing railing?

Often. We copy the profile and finish, or build a compatible new section.

How can I tell if my railing is unsafe?

Push firmly on the rail and posts. If anything moves, flexes or shows cracks or rust at the base, have it repaired promptly.
