How we work

Six steps from first call to a finished repair.

A clear, unhurried process that keeps you informed and in control.

The journey

What happens, and when.

  1. A smartphone on a truck dashboard showing an incoming call, with a steel gate visible through the windshield
    01

    Call or send photos

Tell us what is broken or what you want built and send photos if you can. We plan the visit so the truck arrives ready.

  2. A tape measure and a clipboard beside a broken steel gate hinge on a post
    02

    Look and quote

We see the work, ask about the metal and access and give you a clear written price.

  3. A tablet with a blank estimate form and a pen on a truck tailgate in morning light
    03

    Schedule

We agree a day and an arrival window, and call when we are on the way.

  4. A portable welding machine set up beside a steel gate with leads, a ground clamp and a helmet resting on it
    04

    Safe setup and welding

Work zone cleared, fire watch in place, then careful welding in the right process for the metal.

  5. A grinder, wire brush and a can of rust-inhibiting paint beside a smooth, freshly ground and painted weld joint
    05

    Finish and clean-up

Welds ground, primed and painted, and the area left clean.

  6. A small kit with touch-up paint, a wire brush and leather gloves beside a freshly repaired steel bracket
    06

    Walk-through and follow-up

We walk through the finished work with you and note anything to watch.

Timing

How long does it take?

How long does a typical job take?

A single hinge or bracket repair can take an hour or two. A list of repairs usually takes a day, and bigger projects such as a custom gate, a railing run or a trailer build take days or weeks. We give you a time estimate before we start.

Do I need to be home?

It helps to be there at the start and the end, and we keep you posted during the work by phone or message. Please keep children and pets away from the work zone.

What should I do before you arrive?

Clear a path for the truck, move vehicles and anything flammable away from the work and tell us about gates, animals and soft ground. We set up the fire-safe work zone and take care of the rest.
